5 Reasons why I started my cooking page

The lockdown has been never ending. We are all tired waiting for the vaccine.  Also to hear sad news like the vaccine not being available until 2021 end.  The tourism industry has taken a hit and there have been lots of Job losses. My heart goes out to those who are affected by this!

With travel no longer safe and threatening to health I have taken to hobbies at home! I tried painting for a while , some home decor. Finally settled for cooking. I started an Instagram page

The Veg Spice Kitchen

Here are 5 reasons why I started it (Away from the Exploring life page I have)

1.Creative outlet

Travel was a way for me to get creative. I travel, I write a blog about it, I edit pictures from the trip, I post them and Interact with people. With no where to travel I missed my Creative outlet. This cooking hobby of mine provided that. I now post pictures of my recipes and cooked food. I am learning food photography as well.

2. Maintaining my sanity

I am a big extrovert. I am out of the house 5 days a week. I am at the quizzes, board game nights, dance workshops and some weekend trek. It drove me crazy being at home the last few months. Cooking everyday keeps me sane and grounded!

3. Safe and useful hobby at home

I had a huge dilemma on whether to travel to nearby places or pursue a hobby at home. After a lot of contemplation I decided to not take risks in exposing me or my family members and Stay at home. My hubby now loves the new recipes I make and it turned out to be a very useful hobby!

4. Learning Vegetarian recipes

My hubby is a vegetarian and I am a hard core non vegetarian. I took it as a challenge to learn more veg recipes. Did I tell you he doesnt eat mushroom and egg as well. Which makes it even more challenging. It has been a ride!

5. Exploring different cultures

What I loved about travel was exploration of different cultures. Creative new recipes from different parts of the world helps me in exploring them from home.
